'Future of children's hospices becoming unsustainable'

SERIOUSLY ill children could be denied end-of-life care if hospices do not get more funding, a charity has warned.

The care sites are currently being forced to rely on donations and charity shops to prop up services, it was said.

A poll of 30 hospices in England found 89% expect their costs to exceed their income this financial year.

Charity group Together for Short Lives has now called on ministers to increase ring-fenced NHS funding for children’s hospices.
