Freddie's bid to be top dog at Crufts aged 6

FREDDIE Osborne will become Crufts’ youngest competitor when he takes to the show ring with his best friend Penny - at the age of just six.

The schoolboy and his smooth fox terrier will compete alongside adults at the world-famous dog show.

Freddie and Penny have been inseparable since the day he was born, with the dog always faithfully by his side.

The youngster has been given special permission to take the day off school so that they can compete at Birmingham’s NEC tomorrow.

Freddie and his beloved eight-year-old pooch have been tipped to become one of the stars of Terrier & Hound Day.

Freddie, from Bobbington, Staffs, said: "I love dog shows and I love Penny because she’s not just my dog, she’s my best friend.

"I am really looking forward to being with her in the arena.
