For all the tea in... Wales

Daily Express

April 15, 2025

WE ALL love a cup of tea. Well, maybe not all, but quite a lot of us. Apparently, we drink 100 million cups a day. Or so we're told tonight on ESCAPETO THE FARM WITH KATE HUMBLE (5, 7pm). And I see no reason to dispute that figure.

So, do you have a favourite? Tetley, perhaps? Typhoo? The brand those funny chimpanzees used to advertise? (“Coo-ee, Mr Shifter! Light refreshments!” God, I miss those guys...).

If so, could you be persuaded to try a different brand? Specifically, a cup of Kate’s, grown on her own tea plantation at this farm of hers in Wales?

Well, hold your horses for now because she doesn’t actually have one. But it sounds as if she might fancy the idea, as a means of bringing in some extra income.

“Farming is tougher than ever,” Kate points out. “It’s a struggle, and it’s getting harder, because prices are going through the roof at the moment.

“Good job I’ve got my own telly series, eh?”
