Five-time cancer survivor now runs ultra-marathons

A GRAN who has had cancer five times is celebrating with exercise challenges after being told she is free of the disease.

Natalie Yates-Bolton has suffered two bouts of Hodgkin's lymphoma as well as breast cancer on three occasions.

She has endured 11 operations, 30 sessions of chemotherapy and 55 rounds of radiotherapy.

Now Natalie, a senior lecturer in nursing at the University of Salford, has been told she is cancer-free after spending the past six years on the cancer-targeting drug palbociclib, sold as Ibrance.

Doctors at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester are thrilled with her progress, saying all scans show the cancer has gone.

Natalie, 57, who has always been determined to live life to the full, is now setting herself tough exercise challenges.
