Ex-TV journalist in court for 'throwing chips at boyfriend'

A FORMER TV journalist has appeared in court accused of punching and throwing chips at her boyfriend during a row at a station.

Victoria Mayo, 41, who worked for the BBC, ITV and Canada's Global network, pleaded not guilty to assaulting Edward Royall during a “disagreement”.

Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court heard the incident took place at Oulton Broad North railway station in Suffolk in February.

John Cooper, prosecuting, said footage of the alleged attack would be played at the trial.

He said it showed Mayo, right – who now runs her own public relations firm - “pull his hair, punch him and throw chips at him”.
