Eviction fight over exclusive berth on river

THE owner of a luxury houseboat claims he is being unfairly evicted from a berth next to London’s “Billionaires’ Row”.
Simon Howard and his then wife Kate ploughed almost £900,000 into buying the dilapidated Joseph Conrad vessel in 2010.
Formerly a Dutch shipping barge, the 100ft two-bedroom boat was transformed into a lavish pad.
But the 69-year-old business consultant is now fighting eviction from his premier berth at the entrance to Cheyne Walk, Chelsea.
Deadline
Mr Howard says that while recovering from major heart surgery in 2022, he was informed by his landlord that he had missed the deadline to renew his mooring licence.
