THE mother of a man shot dead by police marksmen after being mistaken for a terrorist has said “everyone should watch” a TV dramatisation of her son’s killing.
Brazilian electrician Jean Charles de Menezes, 27, was killed at Stockwell underground station in South London on July 22, 2005.
He was shot seven times by two marksmen, having been wrongly identified as one of the suspects in a failed bombing the previous day because they were linked to the same block of flats.
The failed bomb plot had come two weeks after the 7/7 London bombings in which 52 people were killed.
No officers were ever prosecuted for the killing of Mr de Menezes, but the Met was fined for breaching health and safety laws.
