First member of Royal Family speaks out after Andrew features in released files
PRINCE Edward has urged people to “remember the victims” of sick paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The Duke of Edinburgh became the first royal to respond to the latest Epstein Files release in which his brother Andrew features more than 2,000 times across around three million pages relating to the late paedophile financier. The dossier was published by the US Department of Justice last week.
Asked how he was coping after days of "very difficult" headlines about Epstein that fall "very close to home", Edward said: "I think it's really important always to remember the victims, and who are the victims in all this?" His remarks, during an official four-day trip to the United Arab Emirates, were the first public comments made by a member of the Royal Family about the ongoing scandal since the latest files were released on Friday.
They included photos that seem to show Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on all fours over an unidentified woman lying on the floor. His appearance in yet more documents sparked calls for him to finally testify to the US Congress on his relationship with Epstein.
The latest revelations also suggest that Andrew, 65, did not cut ties with the disgraced billionaire in December 2010 as he claimed.
