Drug traces found in body of Tenerife ravine death teen

TEENAGER Jay Slater, who disappeared in Tenerife last summer sparking a major search, was found to have had drugs and alcohol in his system before he died from a head injury, an inquest heard.

The hearing was told summonses had been issued for several witnesses who were in contact with Jay, 19, before he disappeared.

However, a number had failed to respond, including Bradley Geoghegan, Brandon Hodgson, Lucy Law and Leo McDermott.

Jay, of Oswaldtwistle, Lancs, was holidaying on the Spanish island and had been with friends to the Papagayo nightclub in Playa de las Americas on June 16.
