'Don't wreck my assisted dying bill with amendments'

THE MP behind the proposed assisted dying legislation has asked critics not to kill her Bill before all members have a chance to vote on it.

Labour's Kim Leadbeater said she had "weeks and weeks" of work to do after the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill committee scrutinized her proposal line by line.

She added: "What I wouldn't want to see would be that people try and put so many amendments in that we don't end up getting to third reading. But most MPs I've spoken to this week understand the parliamentary process."
