Seagulls star Welbeck hits 10-goal mark again to pile on relegation worries for Forest

EVERGREEN Danny Welbeck struck the winner after 15 minutes to reach another personal milestone.

While his goal surely ended any lingering fears of Brighton being sucked into trouble, Nottingham Forest remain just two points above the drop zone.

Welbeck scored after Morgan Gibbs-White had cancelled out Diego Gomez's early strike for the Seagulls. And it was the first Premier League match to see three goals scored in the opening 15 minutes since Crystal Palace-Arsenal in December 2024.

Welbeck, 35, has now scored 10 topflight goals for the second successive season, having failed to hit double figures in any of his previous 16 campaigns.

Forest, still juggling Europa League fixtures with their survival battle, are now in what looks like a three-way tussle, with West Ham and Tottenham, to avoid finishing 18th.

After winning their first match under new manger Vitor Pereira, beating Fenerbahce, they have now lost three in a row even though they progressed in Europe.
