Coward who killed Stephen refuses to name his fellow murderers as it would ‘pose a risk to me’

Fight for justice...Stephen's parents Neville and Doreen

David Norris spoke publicly for the first time about his role in the 1993 racially-motivated murder to apologise, adding yesterday the guilt "weighs heavy on my shoulders".

But when pushed to reveal more about the others involved, Norris, now 49, said in an "ideal world" he would give Stephen's relatives "every detail" but claimed that would put him and his own family at risk.

Stabbed

A statement on behalf of Stephen's father Neville said "justice has not been done" if Norris is released without naming the other gang members who stabbed his son to death.

A parole board hearing that started yesterday will continue today, before a day in private on Friday, to decide if Norris should be freed or moved to an open prison.
