Clueless drug gang started blaze after digging up road to power cannabis farms

A GROUP of men were exposed as workers for an Albanian drug lord after they accidentally caused a fire while digging up electricity lines to power a cannabis farm.

They wore hi-vis jackets, set up cones to block off a section of road in Middlesbrough and began digging — which was when residents realised they did not seem to know what they were doing.

People at the company, Elev8, made it seem legitimate through a series of LinkedIn posts looking for work, despite actually being a front for an Albanian drugs ring.

One of them read: “If we can help you with any civil work from fibre to utilities in the North West we have lads ready with full digging kits etc all accreditations.”
