Classy Kerr is simply the vest

WEARING Jake Wightman's lucky vest, Josh Kerr kept a promise to his close pal in Budapest last night.

SO With Wightman out injured and unable to defend the title he won sensationally a year ago, Kerr vowed to do the job for him.

On a night bathed in sweltering heat he delivered again unleashing the power of Scotland on Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen to dramatically steal the prize.

"When you're the underdog you go out and take what's yours, you're not handed anything," said Kerr. "For me, it was go in there, take what's mine."

He had chosen to wear the vest, identical to the one Wightman wore in Oregon, to try to "scare" the Norwegian with memories of nightmares past. It worked a treat.

"I'm not saying I wore the specific one to bring back maybe some nightmares," Kerr said with a twinkle in his eye.
