They join United in decline after shock on south coast
THERE are troubles in Manchester on the blue side as well as red.
Pep Guardiola’s City were left stunned on the south coast after Brighton inflicted a second consecutive Premier League defeat on them.
When Erling Haaland scored early on his 100th Premier League appearance yesterday, City looked well set to recover from their 2-0 home defeat by Tottenham last week.
The Norwegian’s sharp close-range finish off a clever pass from Omar Marmoush put City in control. Brighton struggled to lay a glove on them.
With mighty Rodri returning to the starting lineup along with summer signing Tijjani Reijnders, City dominated and could have finished the game before halftime.
It was more of the same in the first 15 minutes of the second half until Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler unleashed James Milner, Brajan Gruda, Georginio Rutter and Yasin Ayari all at the same time off the bench.
