The lock lines up against Harlequins for his first start of the season after a campaign where they hit the deepest lows and just missed out on the highest of highs.

Thrashed 80-12 by Toulouse in Europe in January, Michael Cheika's men rallied to make the Prem final - where they went down 23-21 to Bath in June.

That French humiliation inspired Tigers in the last few months of the season before they fell short but Chessum is confident they can deliver this time around.

The 25-year-old said: "Toulouse was the worst defeat in the club's history and to say you were part of that is embarrassing. You must always look back and just make sure you just never go through a result like that again.
