'Canoeman's message in a bottle'

A MESSAGE in a bottle that appears to be from "canoeman" John Darwin has washed up on a British beach - 22 years after it was supposedly written on the fraudster's final "fatal" trip.

A boy of 12 made the discovery as he was picking litter along a secluded area of beach in Eastbourne, East Sussex.

When he and his mum got home, they looked up the name and address online and could not believe its owner was deceitful Darwin, who faked his own death at sea so his wife could claim £250,000 in life insurance.
