Broken poll promises are attacks on workers

KEMI Badenoch is absolutely right to sound the alarm as Chancellor Rachel Reeves prepares to drop a new tax bomb on Britain.

It is a sign of the desperation of this government that it is refusing to rule out manifesto-breaking tax hikes.

Ms Reeves refuses to accept responsibility for stamping on growth and hurting employment with her outrageous hike in employers’ national insurance. There is no evidence she understands the depth of distress her tax raid on farming families has caused.

But if she unleashes a new wave of tax hikes to fill the multi-billion pound black hole in the public finances then voters will be incandescent with anger.
