'PROUD' KATIE BACK ON TRACK FOR A DEEP RUN
KATIE BOULTER says her "risk" of playing the Olympics before the US Open has paid off after she finally found her "rhythm" to reach the second round.
Now the British No.1 is targeting her best run at a Grand Slam.
The No.31 seed had won only one match in three hardcourt events since the Paris Olympics on the clay at Roland Garros.
And Aliaksandra Sasnovich, who beat Heather Watson in qualifying, looked set to claim another British scalp when she won the first set in the midday heat after an 11am start here. But Boulter battled back to win 5-7 6-2 6-1 in two hours and 25 minutes after winning 12 of the last 13 points in Stadium 17.
"I'm super proud of the way I managed to stay in there," she said.
"The Olympics was an amazing week for me. I wouldn't change it for the world.
