Bigger cars are facing higher fees for parking

DRIVERS of large vehicles and four-wheel drives will be charged higher parking fees by a Labour-run city council.

Cardiff will increase the cost of permits for owners of SUVs or cars weighing more than 2,400kg after a vote at a cabinet meeting.

A report to the council claimed the vehicles are “more polluting, more expensive and more dangerous” and owners “should pay more for permits”.
