'Asylum seekers not using MoD family homes'

HOUSING for military families will never be used for asylum seekers, a Labour minister has vowed.

Louise Sandher-Jones insisted that accommodation for service personnel would remain entirely separate from sites being considered for migrants.

The veterans minister pledged the Government's plan to overhaul armed forces housing “will not involve” any bases being repurposed for asylum use.

It comes after Labour announced its £9billion Defence Housing Strategy to modernise, refurbish or rebuild the MoD's housing stock.
