Artist turns Da Vinci Code into 'new' 1984s

ARTIST David Shrigley has created 1,000 new copies of George Orwell's 1984 - by recycling unwanted Dan Brown novels.

His Pulped Fiction project was inspired when an Oxfam shop begged donors to stop handing in The Da Vinci Code as it had so many.
David, 55, said pulping 6,000 copies to make new books was a "very direct reference" to the Ministry of Truth, where 1984's Winston Smith has a job rewriting historical documents.
