TOP Tories have reacted with fury over the "appalling" decision to allow sanctioned Russian oligarchs to acquire a chunk of the UK's largest oil producer.

LetterOne, the investment firm part-owned by Mikhail Fridman and Petr Aven, now owns nearly 15% of Harbour Energy.
Shadow Foreign Minister Alicia Kearns said: "Energy security is national security. Russian oligarchs have no place in our energy infrastructure, especially when their wealth fuels Russia's brutal and illegal bombardment of Ukraine.
"I am appalled the Government approved Mikhail Fridman's company's purchase of significant shares in Harbour Energy.
"The Conservatives blocked his purchase of broadband connections on national security grounds when we were in government.
