Hotels and high streets are also getting trade benefits from the success of the Sleeping Beauty (SB) salon and spas network, while its growth strategy, fostered by the government-backed Help To Grow management programme, has created a skills training branch and new jobs.

Founded in 1999 in Lerwick, Shetland, by managing director Lilac Miller and her late mother Glenys, the company offers seven locations across Scotland, including new larger premises in Inverness.

Each bears the prophetic brand name that came about after the women’s eyes were opened to a gap in the market for standalone services and turned that insight into action.
