DAN BIGGAR officially passed the iconic Wales No.10 jersey on to Sam Costelow after consoling his crestfallen in successor the Stade Velodrome changing rooms on Saturday evening.

Costelow, like the rest of his team-mates, was wallowing in the misery of a quarter-final defeat by Argentina in Marseille, only with the added burden of being the man who threw the intercept pass to Nicolas Sanchez that ended Welsh hopes.

But as he called time on his own international career after 112 caps, Biggar told the 22-year-old how bright his own future was as Wales' next playmaker.

"I sat Sam down and told him to forget what just happened and to make this team his own going forward. I told him my time is over - this is your time, so make it count," said Biggar.
