£400 'fly-tip' fine over charity gift
Daily Express
|September 21, 2023
A DISTRAUGHT woman has been fined £400 and branded a fly-tipper - for leaving a bag next to a charity clothing bank.
Amy-Louise May received a shock council letter after visiting her local Asda store to drop off a bag of clothes and bedding.
The 29-year-old support worker, below, said she checked two of the bins on August 31, but found both were full.
Amy instead left the bag next to the bank, so it would be collected.
However, town hall environment bosses have insisted the banks were emptied two hours before she arrived.
