A MUM and her "sadistic" partner who tortured and killed little Alfie Steele were finally caged yesterday
The youngster was repeatedly beaten and held under cold water as a punishment.
Stepdad Dirk Howell, 41, who was convicted of murdering the nine-year-old, was jailed for life with a minimum 32 years.
Alfie's mother, Carla Scott, 35, was locked up for 27 years for his manslaughter and child cruelty. She must spend at least 17 years behind bars.
