PM 'SO WEAK' AS BMA CALLS NEW WALKOUT

200k appointments at risk in doctors' strike

cancelled because of the walkout. The medics provoked widespread fury and warnings of a summer of discontent after announcing a five-day strike over an ongoing pay dispute.

Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch said the Prime Minister had "folded" in negotiations. In a blistering attack during PMQs, Mrs Badenoch said the Labour leader "folds in every negotiation and claims that it is a triumph".

She told the Commons: "He also promised, in fact he boasted, that he solved the doctors strike. A Prime Minister who was so weak and giving a 28% pay rise to doctors.

"Only now we see that they're still voting to strike again."

Resident doctors, formerly called junior doctors, will stage a walkout from 7am on July 25 until 7am on July 30 giving ministers two weeks to agree to negotiate their pay instead.

The British Medical Association said it had met with Health Secretary Wes Streeting to try and "avoid strike action" on Tuesday, but that the Government had "stated that it will not negotiate on pay".
