Greyhound racing ban plans criticised by Senedd committee

WORK around a proposed law to ban greyhound racing in Wales has been strongly criticised by a Senedd committee.
-
The country’s last remaining racing track at Valley Greyhound Stadium in Ystrad Mynach would be closed if the bill was to pass.
The Welsh Government announced plans to outlaw the sport by 2030 earlier this year and a bill which would ban the sport is being considered by the Senedd.
Deputy First Minister and rural affairs minister Huw Irranca-Davies said the government was “taking decisive action to prioritise animal welfare” after listening to the public and considering evidence.
