WHEN Doug King sacked Mark Robins he decided to move Coventry City away from the traditional manager and assistant setup to a more modern approach with the appointment of a head coach.

In came Frank Lampard who, over the past 12 months, has proved to be the perfect fit for the Sky Blues in a bright and dynamic young coach whose man management skills are one of his many strong points in terms of getting the very best out of the players, many of whom have stepped up a level under his watch.

But his title, according to the City boss, is a bit of a "nonsense" given that his far ranging role covers all aspects of coaching and football management.
