Over £420,000 spent on speed cameras in city

MORE than £420,000 has been spent on installing new speed cameras in Coventry.
Councillors said the chosen city locations had a history of traffic collisions and high rates of speeding.
Cameras were installed on Moseley Avenue, Four Pounds Avenue, Wheelwright Lane, Holbrook Lane, Aldermans Green Road, and Parrotts Grove.
Data will be collected over time to provide insights into speed reduction, collisions, and injuries.
We uncovered that the total cost of the rollout was £423,352.
Funding was allocated from the Local Safety Scheme (LSS) budget, which is part of the Local Network Improvement Plan (LNIP).
