Opening date for new £16m school is delayed

A NEW £16m primary school in Nuneaton will not be ready to open this year.

The Watling Meadows Primary School was due to open this September and take in its first ever year of pupils - reception.

But parents of these pupils have been told that the opening of the school has been delayed and that their children will have to start their first ever journey into full time education elsewhere.

In fact, the youngsters will be taught at the Higham Lane North Academy site, which is a secondary school, until the new primary school can open.

This has led to upset and anger among the parents of those who were due to start at the new school.
