TALKING POINTS FROM THE CBS ARENA AHEAD OF THIS WEEKEND'S BLUES CLASH
COVENTRY City continued their impressive unbeaten run to the new Championship season with a hard fought point at Leicester in the first of two big local derbies.
The Sky Blues kept a welcome clean sheet their first in the league since the opening day draw with Hull City - against the Foxes, and now turn their attention to the visit of Birmingham City this weekend in another TV lunchtime kickoff.
Frank Lampard will be hoping that winger Ephron Mason-Clark recovers from a hamstring strain that forced him to sit out at the King Power at the weekend to restore City’s full attacking force against Blues.
Here we take a look at what's going on in and around the club as the team prepares for another bumper game.
Frank heartened by subs
Frank Lampard called upon four of his seasoned squad players at the weekend to help see out the result at the King Power Stadium.
All four - Ellis Simms, Jamie Allen, Jake Bidwell and Josh Eccles - have had to be patient this season when their only starts have been in the EFL Cup. However, they all reaffirmed their value to the Sky Blues’ wider group as the City boss strives to keep his relatively small squad feeling valued.
