WINNING HOME RUN CONTINUES AS KEEPER RUSHWORTH TAKES STAR ROLE

CITY MAKE IT A MAGNIFICENT SEVEN

Ephron Mason-Clark stretches to tuck home the Sky Blues winner at the CBS Arena

COVENTRY City maintained their five-point lead at the top of the Championship with their seventh consecutive home victory of the season their best run at the CBS Arena since 2021.

A second-half tap-in from Ephron Mason-Clark got the Sky Blues back to winning ways following an away defeat and draw in a game in which there could have been plenty more goals. But overall, Frank Lampard's men were the better side and deserved their win. Here are some of the big talking points.

City's clear man of the match was Carl Rushworth who had one of those games that has the opposition doffing their cap to his agility and heroics, particularly his stoppagetime reaction save to deny Fally Mayulu a Robins' equaliser.

The Sky Blues had been on the end of inspired performances from goalkeepers in their previous two matches, first denied by Christian Walton at Ipswich last weekend and then by Daniel Ivesen at Preston in midweek.

"When called upon at moments he's been really good, so he's great," said Lampard of the Brighton loan man. "He's settled in great. He's a top-class goalkeeper, still young but with lots of experience for his age. And, as I say, when needed against a team that have always got a threat he produced a great save."
