CANNABIS FARM UNCOVERED UNDERNEATH MOTORWAY

POLICE uncovered a major cannabis farm hidden beneath the M1 motorway in the Midlands.

More than 240 plants were discovered growing inside a drainage culvert near Northamptonshire.

Workers from National Highways discovered the ‘sophisticated’ setup on Friday, November 28. Access to the culvert, a tunnel typically used to convey water under the road, had been sealed with boards to conceal the illegal growing operation, Northamptonshire Police said.

Inside was extensive shelving to keep the plants above water, and electricity had been diverted for lighting.
