A GLASTONBURY campaigner has hit out at the council’s proposal to make the town a World Heritage site.

Carlyn Marshall has written to Glastonbury town clerk to express her concerns about the way the whole thing has been conducted.

She has also raised questions and applied for information under the Freedom of Information Act.

In a strong worded letter to town clerk Conor Ogilvie-Davidson, Ms Marshall writes: “As town clerk I am writing to you directly to express my profound concern regarding the manner in which Glastonbury’s World Heritage Status application is being progressed, and to raise three critical issues that demand immediate attention and transparent response.”

Ms Marshall claims there has been a denial of democratic process.

She says: “It is completely unacceptable that what were previously public council meetings concerning this matter are now being held in private, with residents actively prevented from speaking.

“This represents a fundamental breach of democratic principles and public trust.
