LLANDEILO Children and Youth Society (Llandeilo Youth Club) is celebrating after being awarded £19,816 in National Lottery funding to support its work.

- IAN LEWIS Reporter

The club has been running since 2022 and is staffed by youth work professionals. It was founded by a small committee during lockdown when the frustration of local youth at a lack of facilities for them became a topic in the community.

The registered charity, based in the town's civic hall, will use the money to open up their drop-in sessions to Year Six by adding an extra weekly session.

The club enjoys local support and has recently received funding from the Rotary Club, the Round Table and the Plough Hotel and Restaurant.

It is also new Llandeilo Mayor Charlotte Walker's chosen charity and has received a huge donation from local gym The Class House, which ran a month-long fundraising CrossFit challenge for its members.
