Rescues and missing girl among busy weekend for RNLI crew

THE Burry Port RNLI lifeboat had a nonstop weekend of going to people's aid, launching multiple times to help those in difficulty along the coast.

The callouts over the weekend took the crew's launches to 45 so far this year.

On Friday evening alone, volunteers launched four times in just two hours.

They searched for people cut off by the tide, marked a submerged vehicle to keep other vessels safe, rescued someone spotted in the water at Burry Port Harbour, and escorted a fishing boat with mechanical problems safely back to its mooring.
