A MAN accused of brutally murdering his estranged girlfriend at Thengwe-Mutangula, after apparently finding her with another man, has been remanded in custody following his brief appearance in the Mutale Magistrate's Court last Monday.

- SILAS NDUVHENI

Lucky Makonyololo is facing a charge of murder for the killing of the 38-year-old Vhutshilo Nefuranyele, who was fatally stabbed in the early hours of April 27 in the rural village. According to the police, the incident unfolded at around 01:50 when Makonyololo found Nefuranyele with another man inside her house.

The two fled the scene, but Makonyololo is believed to have confronted Nefuranyele in the street shortly thereafter and stabbed her to death.
