Singareni inks MoU with CSIR-IMMT in critical mineral domain for production of critical minerals

Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT), a leading national-level research organization.

This MoU aims to foster cooperation in the areas of exploration, scientific research, the application of advanced technologies, the production of critical minerals, and the adoption of eco-friendly mining methods, the state-owned Mining company said in a release here on Friday.

The agreement was formally signed at the CSIR-IMMT office in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, by Dr. Kali Sanjay, Chief Scientist and Head, Hydro & Electrometallurgy Division, CSIR-IMMT; B. Srinivas, General Manager (Exploration), SCCL and V. Ramdas, General Manager (BD & SP), SCCL in the presence of Padma Bhushan Dr. V. K. Saraswat, Member of NITI Aayog and former DG of DRDO, along with CSIR-IMMT Director Dr. Ramanuj Narayan and SCCL Chairman & Managing Director N. Balram.

Speaking on the occasion, Balram, stated that this is a major step towards expanding Singareni's footprint in the critical minerals sector.
