Self-Immolation Case: Naveen seeks Gov's intervention

Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly and BJD President Naveen Patnaik has urged Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati to intervene in the case relating to the self-immolation attempt by a girl student of FM Autonomous College, Balasore.

In a post on his official X handle, Patnaik described the incident as "shocking and deeply distressing", saying that such an act in one of Odisha’s premier universities reflects a serious failure of the system.
Patnaik reminded that the Governor, as Chancellor of major government-run universities including Fakir Mohan University, must ensure that justice is delivered to the student, who allegedly endured prolonged sexual harassment.
