People in UP suffering due to power crisis: Akhilesh

Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav on Monday said that the common people are suffering due to the power crisis in the state, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has ruined the system.

In a statement issued here, Akhilesh said, "Ever since the BJP government is in power, it has not done anything to improve the power system. Due to lack of timely maintenance, the incidents of transformers getting damaged are increasing.
He said that amidst the increasing heat across the state, undeclared power cuts and tripping are proving to be painful for the people. "The BJP had made big claims to improve the power system. It had promised to provide 24-hour electricity to the people of the state, but the BJP's promise has remained false," he said.
