Owaisi slams Union Minister Kiren Rijiju over minority rights

July 08, 2025

AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi launched a scathing attack on Union Minister Kiren Rijiju through a series of posts on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), accusing him of undermining minority rights and treating them as charity instead of constitutional entitlements.

"You are a Minister of the Indian Republic, not a monarch. You hold a constitutional post, not a throne. Minority rights are fundamental rights, not charity," Owaisi said, directly addressing Rijiju.

The remarks came in response to the Minister's recent comments perceived as dismissive of Muslim concerns.

Owaisi questioned whether it is a "benefit" for Indian Muslims to be labelled as "Pakistani, Bangladeshi, jihadi, or Rohingya" on a daily basis.
