Minister Ponnam slams BJP chief for misleading claims on fertiliser supply to Telangana

Telangana Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has come down heavily on BJP state president N Ramachandra Rao, accusing him of spreading false propaganda regarding the supply of fertilisers to the state.

In a statement here on Wednesday, he said the BJP leader was commenting without any understanding of how fertilisers are supplied and who is responsible for it. Although fertilisers are manufactured in various states, Prabhakar pointed out that their distribution falls entirely under the purview of the central government, which allocates supplies based on the requirements of each state.
Prabhakar blamed the shortage of fertilisers faced by farmers in Telangana on the central government's failure to provide adequate quantities.
