AP CM vows for uplift of tribals, develop coffee plantations in 1 lakh more acres

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has reiterated commitment to uplift the tribal people and for their welfare and announced expansion of coffee plantation in one lakh more acres in the region.
The Chief Minister participated in the World Tribal Day celebrations held at Vanjangi, Paderu Mandal, ASR District, on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said AP has 28.32 lakh STs, of whom about 8.41 lakh families are tribals. Every month, 3,77,051 tribals receive NTR Bharosa pensions.
"We are spending Rs 1,595 crore annually on pensions for tribals alone. This reflects our sincerity towards tribal welfare. We provide 200 units of free electricity every month to 4.82 lakh tribal households. Soon, we will launch a scheme to provide free solar rooftop installations," the Chief Minister revealed.
