YOUR heritage story in the Cape Times on Cape Town's Taj Hotel brought back many memories of visiting in the 1990s what were then the offices of BOE, the Board of Executives, and a broker to arrange a mortgage for our home in Cape Town, then again in 2013 seeing the building's transformation into wonderful 5-star addition to Cape Town's hospitality offerings.

Just around the corner from the Taj Hotel in Queen Victoria Street stands what was the City Club, now renamed the Cape Town Club. The City Club first opened to private members way back in April 1878, and for a time was called the City and Civil Service Club, now as the Cape Town Club while still a private members club, it has a wonderful café open to all the public on the ground floor with grand ceili
