Suspects arrested in Table Mountain National Park

THE South African National Parks, SANParks, are hot on the heels of criminals hot on the heels of criminals operating on Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) and have arrested an armed suspect and a car thief within hours.
JP Louw, SANParks Head of Communications, said the first suspect was intercepted on Saturday, linked to breaking into vehicles and was caught red-handed and attempted to flee the scene.
“The Table Mountain National Park Sea, Air, and Mountain (SEAM) Special Operations team successfully apprehended a suspect following a vehicle break-in along the Lion’s Head parking area,” he explained.
“While conducting a routine patrol in the vicinity, SEAM rangers witnessed a car break-in in progress. Upon noticing the rangers, the suspect attempted to flee on foot. A swift response was initiated, and a K9 was deployed.
