No more excuses, Ramaphosa must eat humble pie
Cape Argus
|May 06, 2025
BY THE time Ramaphosa goes to meet Trump at the White House, I hope that sanity will prevail and that maybe, just maybe, Cyril has had an epiphany.
-
One thing Ramaphosa cannot do, given the already fragile relationship between South Africa and the US, is to try to make excuses for his poor leadership, shocking race-based laws, over-regulation of our economy and being a part of a government that has used so-called “transformation” laws to “right some of the wrongs of the past”.
Ramaphosa would do well to come clean in front of Trump and lay it all out on the table, in his most humble fashion.
President Trump will not accept anything other than a huge apology from Ramaphosa for the blatant middle-finger tactics used so nonchalantly by the ANC cadres to show its disrespect to the West and it's number one economic ally.
