THOUSANDS of revellers kicked off their festive season in style yesterday, packing the Grand Parade long before sunset as excitement built for the annual Festive Lights Switch-On.

The mood was electric. Families, friends and visitors poured in from every direction, turning the space around City Hall into one big summer street party. Kids owned the car-free streets of Adderley and Darling, darting between stalls and dancing to the music, while parents lounged on picnic blankets, soaking up the warm evening atmosphere. Law enforcement officers were visible throughout the event, keeping things running smoothly and ensuring the vibe stayed safe and family-friendly.
