Delft family survives shooting after mom’s birthday outing

A DELFT family is lucky to be alive after their friend was shot while seated in their bakkie with their children.
In what is believed to have been an attempt on her husband’s life, the traumatised mother explained that she and her husband went out for the day to celebrate her birthday on Tuesday and had arranged for their friend to take their bakkie to bring the children home in the evening.
When they arrived home to meet the friend, a grey BMW pulled up and opened fire on the driver's side of the bakkie, with their four children and the man’s two children in the vehicle.
The mother explained: “My husband and I left with my car and the bakkie was still at home.
